Petite Reading
Change is always in the making — good or bad, we rarely know what’s coming. This week, there seems a middling level movement underfoot. Perhaps keep things light and consistent — it doesn’t appear that anything is going to be solved this period.

This week we pulled the Wheel of Fortune reversed. Whether reversed or upright the appearance of the Wheel of Fortune encourages one to understand that much of what is happening is out of your control. When the card comes up reversed, like it is here, it points to a time in the wheel’s turning where things are coming up that aren’t so great. But rest assured, the Wheel of Fortune never stops turning, change is assured.
Our first hexagram this week is also the first of the I Ching, #40, Deliverance. “This refers to a time in which tensions and complications begin to be eased. At such times we ought to make our way back to ordinary conditions as soon as possible… Returning to the regular order of life as soon as deliverance is achieved brings good fortune. If there are any residual matters that ought to be attended to, it should be done as quickly as possible.” Our hexagram contained two changes — so expect some variance this week. The specific note here is: if tensions arise this week, don’t engage at all, but keep to yourself.
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #58, The Joyous, Lake. Here again we have something like a description for the maintenance joy. “True joy, rests on firmness and strength within, manifesting itself outwardly as yielding and gentle.” Joy is mere “mirth” it is a continual exchange of knowledge with sincere friends. “Knowledge should be a refreshing and vitalizing force. It becomes so only through stimulating intercourse with congenial friends with whom one holds discussion and practices application of the truths of life.” (Like consult the I Ching weekly with a close companion 😉.)
