Justice (reversed)

51. The Arousing (Shock, Thunder)
40. Deliverance
Petite Reading
Do not waste time worrying about balances; there is enough to tend at hand. There are more variables (inside and out) than any brain can account and prepare for. Develop acceptance and integration — perhaps admire the dignified awe of the Luohan.

This week we pulled the Justice card reversed. In upright aspect, the Justice card points to a time where an external, impartial accountability is coming to the fore — either you want just for something or you personally are facing a reckoning. When the card is reversed as it is here, an issue of internal morality is coming to the fore. Are you hiding a dark deed or suffering under an unhealthy persecution complex. Take time this period to consider.
Our first hexagram this week is #51, The Arousing (Shock, Thunder). The world is full featured — the scenarios of which it produces range from docility to middling agitation to unbridled ferocity. The latter can produce deep, damaging disturbances. But superior individuals have a particular way of processing such jolts: “When a person has learned within their heart what fear and trembling mean, they are safeguarded against any terror produced by outside influences. Let the thunder roll and spread terror a hundred miles around: they remain so composed and reverent in spirit that (even) the sacrificial rite is not interrupted... (they maintain) a profound inner seriousness from which all terrors glance off harmlessly.” There were two changes in our hexagram this week, so expect some variance in tone or plot. The specific notes regarding these variances are the following: Be patient in the return of your losses and possession of the ability to endure terror is one of the great advantages.
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #40, Deliverance. This hexagram discusses times where great tensions are released. It uses an analog: “rain relieves atmospheric tension, making all the buds burst open, so a time of deliverance from burdensome pressure has a liberating and stimulating effect on life.” Though it warns that “in such times we must not overdo our triumph…” as “returning to the regular order of life as soon as deliverance is achieved brings good fortune.”
