Petite Reading
One has to ready themselves at every possible moment for all things having their own time — an unfeigned but expectant shapeshifting. We are not speaking of client pandering, or general opportunism here but of an internal flexibility as concerns the fickle nature of inspiration, mood and technique. That, to materialize or engage or analyze a particular thing, one’s approach and method must be highly flexible as well as retain a strong archival memory of approaches. Perhaps “highly attuned improvisation” is the best way to put it. NB, not every aspect of this movement is going to be intelligible or palatable or attractive to close collaborators — it is always a long term thing. (Trust is of utmost importance.)

This week we pulled the Four of Cups. Shakespeare’s Hamlet said “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” The intimation both in the quote and in the card are quite similar: though you are temporizing resolutely and at a high level, perhaps there’s a looping not germane to further growth. There are many aspects worthy of integration, some waiting, in reach just out of view — you only have to turn your head a bit — with an open mind.
Our first hexagram this week is #60, Limitation. Here is discussed the condition of limitation within the infinite. That is, that since conditions/contexts are variable/innumerable it is important to materialize a definition for your world(s). A definition that is shaped simultaneously by “loyalty”, “disinterestedness” and “intuition”. Our hexagram contained two changes this week; the specific notes are: reroute any anxious hesitation (strike while the iron’s hot) and do not force definitions/limitations, guide them.
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #24, Return (The Turning Point). Here we have a description of the fulcrum point of change from the darkest point to initial light (the moment just before the light returns). It is a time where potential is at its highest, but felt energy at the lowest. A time of tremendous opportunity (and experience key). A time to get ready and shape the power and light that is inevitable. NB, it seems wise to consider, a cycle isn’t a binary; they don’t exclude drift and mutation — they aren’t repetitions. They are arcs of difference that are intelligible and tangible.
