This week we pulled the “Justice” card (in the Crowleyian Thoth deck — “Adjustment”). With this card comes the implication of Balance, writ large. It is possible that a period of long wanted parity or evenness will begin. But be aware, the establishment of an equilibrium also brings the nullification of extremes — so if a certain project or relation is based in a fiery or preferential energy, perhaps find a way to complete it at another time.
Our first hexagram, which we partner with our tarot to describe (or further detail) the current situation, is #61, “Inner Truth.” Here there is a metaphorical image presented. That of an egg; it is pointed out that for an egg to reach its full potential an outside force is required; the outside force is invisible to the interior of the egg. The implication is that in order for a group situation to reach its full manifestation, the individual parts must “penetrate” to the interior of the others’ minds — that is “gain a sympathetic appreciation” of the the others’ “circumstances.”
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #59, “Dispersion (Dissolution).” The subject of this hexagram is the dissolution of rigidity of personal perspective, as the only way to greater good. Egotism or some form of narcissism is natural to humans but it is not conducive to getting along. Obviously a greater/common goal or interest is the best way to dissolve fixity of personal perspectives and bring about joyful togetherness. Music and religious-like communalism is encouraged.
Our extraction: Equilibrium is the desired state of most life and many forces. Larger equilibriums and harmonies require the acquiescence of smaller elements — they need to adopt the aspiration of the larger melody. To encourage this process it is helpful to take the time to get to know the desires of the individual participants so as to find what is commonly desired — and make the most shared elements the group goal or the key in which the whole piece is played.
