This week we drew the “Justice” card (alternately known as “Adjustment” in Crowley’s Thoth deck). This card points to clarity and balance. Questions proposed in this period will yield unbiased answers. It is a time to pursue deep, personal inquiries and listen openly.
Our first hexagram, which we partner with our tarot to describe (or further detail) the current situation, is #9 “The Taming Power of the Small.” This hexagram intimates that currently individuals have little outward effect. And since external potency is at a low ebb, it is an opportune time to refine personal skills and ready sincere talents — for eventual application. “An individual, in times when they can produce no great effect in the outer world, can do nothing except refine the expression of their nature in small ways.”
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #18 “Decay, Work on what has been spoiled.” “We must first know the causes of corruption before we can do away with them… so that a relapse may be avoided.” “Success depends… on proper deliberation.” The lines here outline a method for preparation, not for outward action. Reduce the signals and meditate on your faults. Make plans to befriend or eliminate past errors.
Our extraction: The card and two hexagrams are all pointing inwardly. Subsequently there is a solid trio of endeavors: the pursuance of a deep personal truth, the taking of time to perfect one’s aptitudes (for latter utility), and reflection on what is rank or outmoded within, so as to begin afresh.
