This week we drew the “Two of Disks” (alternately known as the “Two of Pentacles” or the “Two of Coins”). This is the card of the successful juggler. It points to the ability to manage multiple projects or modes with skill and confidence.
Our first hexagram, which we partner with our tarot to describe (or further detail) the current situation, is #31 “Influence.” This hexagram describes the elements and conditions needed to have a positive impact on a situation. It states that humbleness and keeping an open mind is key. Being fixated on oneself without listening will not encourage the necessary “attraction between affinities” which “is a general law of nature.”
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #28, “Preponderance of the Great.” With this hexagram comes a direct warning, something is too heavy for the support it’s being given. Swiftness to correct the situation is strongly advised; contemplative planning will lead to disaster.
Our extraction: As the adage goes: the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function — basically “juggling” is a superlative and wanted skill; thus it is neither common nor easy. It requires that one be completely wrapt without focusing too much on one element. This is equanimity and it is fundamental. Act fast to correct glaring errors and keep your projects fresh and moving.
