This week we drew “Three of Cups” — a card which symbolizes joyful revelry of a social order. The feeling of abundance pervades — perhaps a celebration of group dynamics or a party to signify the achievements of one whose success benefits all. It is also suggested to find “humor amidst the tragedy” and be discerning of friends; choose ones that won’t judge your choices.
Our first hexagram, which we partner with our tarot to describe (or further detail) the current situation, is #50, “The Caldron.” This hexagram deals with the subject of nourishment, writ large and for the masses. The creation of nourishment is a very interdependent and far reaching arrival. It involves weather, farming, means of distribution and deeply skilled knowledge of preparation. Cultivation and connectivity are the chief attributes here.
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #47, “Oppression.” It is said that “everywhere superior people are oppressed and held in restraint by inferior people.” It is a time where superior people are going to be misunderstood. But it is recommended “to be strong within and sparing of words” as well to be “cheerful despite all danger, and “this cheerfulness is the source of later successes.”
Our extraction: With all three readings it seems that any significant activity or development, during the week, is going to be group oriented. Perhaps participate in activities that have beneficial societal implications.  As well, it is wise to keep an upbeat attitude in the face of any adversity — there will be trouble but keep reactions under control and by all means do not get mired.
