This week we drew “The Universe.” This card is a symbol of deep, ultimate integration, a harmony of all the primary aspects of human life: “energy, emotion, ambition and material goals.” It points to setting the course of overarching, lifelong projects.
Our first hexagram, which we partner with our tarot to describe (or further detail) the current situation, is #54 “The Marrying Maiden.” Here, as is the case with many of the I Ching’s hexagrams, behaving with tact and reserve, is suggested. We are all born into a situation that is underway — to say the least. To believe that we can really know the factors that will influence the success of our goals is foolish. But we can assist ourselves, that is not hinder our development, by eliminating hubris and narcissism.
Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #25 “Innocence/The Unexpected.” It is said here that accordance with nature requires the aspect of innocence — it is therefore fundamental to understand the difference between innocence and its antithesis, corruption. Innocence is a state where one isn’t corrupted or possessed by/with hardened expectations. Many of us, because of the painful blows of childhood involuntarily walk through life in a position of self protection; it is impossible to accept love when you are guarding (expecting the opposite of love). Even death may be love.
Our extraction: The three readings flow quite well together (they probably always do 🙄). Make large goals, unburden or accept your past (your corruptions, your rust, your barnacles) and be humble and open about your desire for the warmth of love. Take a calm look around to better plot your ultimate course for these goals. If your world is in turmoil make these basic, broad undertakings your only path (do not take on new relations or additional duties).
