These first few lines are the general aphoristic returns for the week. They are raw and uninterpreted; there to use how you’d like. (The specific readings follow.)

  • When negative thoughts are internalized (not outwardly expressed, in a relatively judgement free environment) — deceit and bias will result.
  • The person who works to achieve deep calm no longer sees the world as the tumult of individual beings, but all as movements within the larger movements of universe/etc.. It is said that this understanding is the best platform for serious decisions.

Question from “E.T.”: Is pride healthily offset by deep hobbies? (Pride here meaning, narcissism, not a healthy love of one's self...)

Oracle reply: Yes, but only if the spirit of the hobby is right. Intelligent dimension is wanted in life. That is, perhaps humans are best thought of as moving single point perspectives in an infinitely dimensional world — so, unique (and kinda fixed) but also having the ability to move around other objects, thoughts and people. Because multi-dimensionality is the reality, it is not healthy to be sedentary.

A genuine hobby (an activity done for pleasure and not for money) gives proper dimension to life. And certainly offsets pride’s desire for fixed, single-point-perspective control.

This week we pulled the Queen of Swords (reversed). Here we have the negative internalization of the intellect resulting in bias, and deceit.

Our first hexagram this week is #52, Keeping Still (Mountain). “True quiet means keeping still when the time has come to keep still, and going forward when the time has come to go forward. In this way rest and movement are in agreement with the demands of the time, and thus there is light in life.” But wait! “When a person has thus become calm, they may turn to the outside world. They no longer see in it the struggle and tumult of individual beings, and therefore they have that true peace of mind which is needed for understanding the great laws of the universe and for acting in harmony with them. Whoever acts from these deep levels makes no mistakes.”
