King of Pentacles (reversed)

6. Conflict
These first few lines are the general aphoristic returns for the week. They are raw and uninterpreted; there to use how you’d like. (The specific readings follow.)
Question from “B.E.T.”: Relatively speaking, we understand the grotesque limitations of binary thinking: right/wrong, us/them, liberal/conservative, raw/cooked, mine/yours, young/old, universal/specific, advantage/disadvantage, happy/sad, inside/outside, etc., etc.. The “grotesqueness” is obviously oversimplification. It is a method that ignores or represses the reality of the untraceable fibrous connections and specific formations of all thought and object.
One of the stickiest binary traps is the binary between a side who thinks there are no binaries versus a viewpoint that there are fixed binaries. From a not too far remove, it is almost impossible not to see them as almost identical and inter-responsible. How to bridge the gap? Channeling? Forced allowances? Universal modesty? Good faith ambiguity? Transcendental kindness? Murder? (We also understand that this question is a binary: question/answer...)
Oracle reply: Clear-headedness in conflict is the thorough desire for compromise; full stop. Anything else is the ABSOLUTE REVERSE OF PROGRESS.
How to achieve this? Shout it from the rooftops. Mantra it. Whisper it to yourself when you’re looking into the refrigerator. Talk about it endlessly with your “friends” and “enemies.”
“To carry conflict to the bitter end has evil effects even when one is in the right, because the enmity is then perpetuated.”
say it again...
“To carry conflict to the bitter end has evil effects even when one is in the right...”
say it again...
“To carry conflict to the bitter end has evil effects even when one is in the right...”
say it again... and again... and again... ... ...

This week we pulled the King of Pentacles (reversed). Vice, weakness, indulgence, corruption, anti-intellectualism — normal decorum is off, fear as opposed to valor... The path that connects intelligence and its realization is degrading.
Our first hexagram this week is #6, Conflict. “If a person is entangled in a conflict, their only salvation lies in being so clear–headed and inwardly strong that they are always ready to come to terms by meeting the opponent halfway. To carry on the conflict to the bitter end has evil effects even when one is in the right, because the enmity is then perpetuated.” What is more truthful than the condition of compromise in a world that is COMPLETELY INTERDEPENDENT?!
- The path that connects intelligence and its realization has degraded.
- Compromise is the law of the universal condition of interdependence.
- “To carry conflict to the bitter end has evil effects even when one is in the right, because the enmity is then perpetuated.”
